Bill & Coin: Slot Overview

Players, meet Bill & Coin, a couple of characters who star in an online slot named after the friendly duo from software provider Relax Gaming. Despite being in possession of two amiable personalities, Bill & Coin is not a slot that relies on a high thematic quirk factor to entertain willing participants. On the contrary, Bill & Coin boasts regular and super versions of 3 very different bonus rounds firing off features such as coin collects, a rising multiplier that goes as high as x500, and a sure win feature. It might not have a kitchen sink, but Bill & Coin has plenty more to offer besides.

If a Hacksaw Gaming Canny the Can slot ever produced offspring, it might very well look something like Bill & Coin. Its base game screen is a little on the sparse side, made up of a plain green background and stacks of notes and coins, with the two heroes positioned by the reels. If it wasn't made clear before, Bill gets his name from dollar bills, while Coin, well, his name comes from coins, natch. Bill & Coin doesn't exactly snatch your eyes and force them to stare after a quick glance, but it is a game possessing a lot more depth than it might initially appear to have.

Bill & Coin slot - base game

Bill & Coin is a highly volatile slot, with an RTP of 96.1% when betting 10 c to $/€100 per spin. It is predominantly played on a 6-reel, 4-row gaming grid supplying 4,096 ways to win. Hitting matching symbols on at least 3 adjacent reels beginning on the leftmost side is what you'll need to happen to create a win.

Classic slot symbols help disguise the fact Bill & Coins is quite a unique game. From low to high on the paytable, we find J-A card ranks, grapes, watermelons, cherries, bells, sevens, and diamonds. A 6 OAK low pay win is worth 1 times the bet, while a 6 OAK high pay win awards 2 to 10 times the bet. Winning combinations are removed from the reels by the tumble feature, dropping in symbols to fill empty spaces - a process that repeats until no new win occurs. Lastly, 'W' wilds replace any regular pay symbol.

Bill & Coin: Slot Features

Fair dues, Bill & Coin's base game is something of a formality. It's got a lot of ways to win as well as a win multiplier and tumbles, okay, but bonus rounds are Bill & Coin's main draw. This is because there are three very different bonuses to trigger, as well as a super version of each one, plus a bonus buy menu if you prefer to leap right into them.

Win Multiplier

On any initial win in the base game or in the Sure Win feature, a win multiplier is activated and set to x1. On any additional win in the same round, the multiplier is increased by +1 up to a maximum of x5. When no more wins occur in the base game, the multiplier multiplies the accumulated win before it is paid. In the Sure Win, the multiplier is used to multiply the Sure Win amount plus the accumulated wins before the combined amount is paid.

Bonus Pick

Landing 3 scatter symbols triggers the Bonus Pick, where players get to choose one of the 3 bonus games - Coin Track, Multiplier Ladder, or Sure Win. If one of the triggering scatters is a super scatter, then players pick the super version of their preferred bonus game.

Coin Track

This bonus starts with 4 coins on a coin track surrounding the reels. At the start of each spin, the coins move one step clockwise along the coin track. When a coin reaches the end of the track, the round ends. On each spin, enhancer symbols, collect symbols or respin symbols may land on the reels in the middle of the coin track. The super bonus version of this feature has more enhancer symbols and collect symbols on the reels. Enhancer symbols are:

  • Single +2-20 - the value is added to a randomly chosen coin.
  • All +1-20 - adds its value to all coins.
  • Single x2-10 - multiplies a random coin by its value.
  • All x2-10 - multiplies all coins by its value.

These are the collect symbols, which remove coins from the track when collected:

  • Collect All - collects the values from all coins.
  • Triple Collect - collects the value of a random coin and the two adjacent positions if applicable.
  • Single Collect - collects a single random coin.
  • Triple Collect/Single Collect with chains - these symbols display a number indicating the number of spins they remain on the reels, performing their collect abilities.
  • Respin - grants an additional spin without moving the coins along the track.

Multiplier Ladder

This round starts with 5 free spins and an x1 value on the multiplier ladder. After every win and between free spins, the multiplier ladder increases in value up to x500. For every 5 scatter symbols that land, +5 free spins are awarded. When triggering the super version of the Multiplier Ladder feature, players start with 8 free spins.

Sure Win

This round starts with 5 free spins and a Sure Win value of 0.2 to 50 times the bet. Any regular wins in a free spin are added to the Sure Win before the Sure Win is awarded. If multiple wins occur on a free spin, the accumulated win multiplier multiplies the Sure Win after regular wins have been added to the Sure Win. At the end of a free spin, the Sure Win is awarded as the payout, and its value is kept as the new Sure Win for the following spin. Hitting an extra free spins symbol awards +1 free spin, and if the super bonus version of the Sure Win feature starts with 8 free spins.

Buy Bonus

From the bonus buy menu, players can trigger the regular bonus for 45x the bet or the super version for 100x the bet. Once bought, you can then pick 1 of the 3 available bonus rounds. The RTP when buying bonuses is 96.5%.

Bill & Coin: Slot Verdict

Upon initial observation, Bill & Coin seemed somewhat unremarkable, but it soon revealed itself to be crafted in the inventive vein of Iron Bank and Net Gains, an unexpectedly positive revelation. As the game progressed and the reels spun, it also became increasingly clear that Bill & Coin harbored depths and intricacies far beyond what was first perceived. Indeed, Bill & Coin is a bonus round bonanza with no less than 3 of them, or 6 if you count regular and super versions as separate, meaning there is a lot going on for curious players to bash their way through.

All three bonuses have their merits, too. From the collection antics of the Coin Track to the potentially thrilling march of the multipliers in Multiplier Ladder and the building sure win pot action of the Sure Win round. So different is each bonus that it is hard to pick a favourite. Presumably, the game's max win of 10,000x the bet is achievable no matter the mode or phase, and the game info does not mention otherwise. Either way, each bonus is entertaining enough in its own right to take them all for a test run to try and figure out a personal preference.

The recent offerings from Relax Gaming have been a mixed bag in terms of quality and reception. Some of the recent releases haven't quite live up to the high standards usually set by the studio, leaving much to be desired. Nevertheless, with their newest game, Bill & Coin, Relax Gaming has made a strong comeback. This slot game showcases their trademark creativity and offers a variety of engaging features, catering to a diverse spectrum of gambling enthusiasts.

Great

Bill & Coin is an eccentrically entertaining game with a variety of smart bonus rounds to experience.
